Statement:
The theme for this sound walk is based on the beginning of the video game "Dark Souls". I am recreating the first area of the game where you wake up in a prison and after walking around to understand you're surroundings, suddenly, you’re faced with a giant boss. I wanted to do something gothic-based or medieval for this project, which is why this is fictional and not an area I can walk near. My intention for this sound walk is to have you feel the uneasiness of the world you're in. You have just woken up from a deep slumber and are allowed to leave a death-infested prison, but after gathering a sense of your surroundings and entering the courtyard, you are faced with an even bigger surprise. What do you do?
For the sound effects I created, I made my noises and used the echo and distortion effects to create the demon sounds as you walk around the prison and in the courtyard. My footsteps on the stairs and in my hallway, my bathtub for the water-filled hallway in the prison, and adjusted the volume as needed to have the music not overpower the sounds of the dungeon or the courtyard.
